Alfonso Zenteno is one of four interns working at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce this summer. Alfonso was born in Philadelphia and lived in Mexico and San Diego before finishing up his last three years of high school at Keystone here in San Antonio. Alfonso is attending Boston University and is majoring in International Relations with a concentration in Economics and Europe, and pursing a minor in Economics.
During his time at the Chamber Alfonso is working with the Economic Development and Education and Workforce Development departments. Alfonso’s responsibilities include working on 2018 Chamber Chairman Shaun Kennedy’s initiative, Project Ability, to help businesses obtain the resources needed to hire more individuals from the special needs community. He is also assisting with developing logistics and planning for the Chamber’s upcoming SA to DC trip in February 2019. He is also conducting research on the State’s 60x30TX plan, a statewide initiative to have at least 60% of Texans, ages 25-34, obtain a certificate or degree.
Alfonso will be starting his junior year at Boston University this fall and is planning to go abroad for a year beginning next spring.
