Following the 4th Court of Appeals denial of a request to block three charter amendments from appearing on the November ballot, Secure San Antonio’s Future took the case to the Texas Supreme Court on Tuesday, September 4. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court denied the PAC’s request that would have kept the three charter amendments off the ballot.
“The current situation with the charter amendments is devastating and damaging to the future of San Antonio,” Chamber President and CEO Richard Perez said. “Much of the information that was spread to the public by the Firefighters Union was meant to distract voters. It is now our job, as a community, to come together and spread the truth about these propositions and the effect they will have if they are passed on November 6.”
On Saturday, September 8 at 9:15 a.m., Secure San Antonio’s Future will host the Go Vote NO Community Kick-Off Rally, which will mark the official beginning of the campaign against the three damaging charter propositions. In an effort to increase public awareness, the Chamber has teamed with Secure San Antonio’s Future to spread the word about the GO Vote NO campaign.
It is vitally important that you join Chamber Chairman Shaun Kennedy and Chamber President and CEO Richard Perez at this event to learn about the very real effects these propositions will have if they are passed in November.
As San Antonians, it is our duty to ensure that the well-being of our city is protected for future generations. We must come together and stop this attack on San Antonio before it is too late.
