How can you help save our City?  Your Chamber has worked closely with the Secure San Antonio’s Future PAC, who is running the GoVoteNo campaign against the proposed charter amendments, to create an Employer Toolkit. The Toolkit, includes information employers and employees can use to share the facts about the damage Propositions A, B, and C, which will appear on the November 6 ballot, will cause. The Toolkit includes:
  • A letter from Mayor Nirenberg
  • Ballot language for the three propositions
  • What the propositions mean and the effects they will have if passed
  • A “Facts” document
  • Information on how to get involved as a volunteer with the campaign
  • Contact information for the campaign
According to a fiscal impact analysis performed by Dr. Steve Nivin, director of the SABÉR Research Institute and an associate professor of economics at St. Mary’s University, San Antonio can expect a loss of $4.2 billion over the next twenty years if voters approve the proposed amendments to the City Charter. That means less money for libraries, parks, sidewalks and streets. It could even impact our ability to fund public safety. The only way to make up for this loss is to increase taxes. That means all San Antonians will be paying more for less. It is important that each of us talk to our friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors, and spreads the word via social media to ensure that voters in San Antonio understand the real facts and consequences associated with Propositions A, B, and C. Please download the Employer Toolkit, and be prepared to share the information far and wide. It is important that you spread the word and urge everyone you know to GO VOTE NO!
