Voter turnout in Bexar County has reached its lowest point in at least 23 years, with just 3.68 percent of the county’s registered voters casting ballots. Many people feel that they are just a drop of water in a large ocean, and there is no point in voting. However, there is power in numbers. One vote can and will make a difference! The first step is getting registered to vote, and your San Antonio Chamber team can help! Next week is Employee Voter Registration Week. We invite you to stop by our downtown office next week between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm to grab some light refreshments and register to vote. Members of the Chamber staff are deputized and ready to assist you or answer any questions you might have. The Chamber believes civic engagement and participation in the political process is vital to our community’s success. With many critical public policy issues needing to be tackled at the local, state and federal level, it is important that we elect pro-business candidates. Given the complexity of these issues and the impact they could have on San Antonio’s vibrant economy, it is important you make your voice heard by hitting the polls this November. The first step is getting registered to vote in Bexar County. If you have not registered, we hope to see you at the Chamber offices next week. It is our goal to help ensure we have a true representation of the people of Bexar County at all levels of government.
