To coincide with National Employee Voter Registration Week, your San Antonio Chamber of Commerce launched its voter information website www.yourvoteSA.com. The website features information about candidates running in key races, voting FAQs, and various resources. Listen to Chamber President Richard Perez talk about voting and the website on Texas Public Radio this morning.
The mission of the Chamber is to build and sustain a vibrant business community by engaging business owners, policymakers, and influencers to address issues and opportunities important to our members and our region. We strongly believe the relationship between the business community and our elected leaders is essential for economic prosperity in San Antonio and throughout Texas.
“With many critical public policy issues needing to be tackled at the local, state and federal levels, it is important that we elect pro-business candidates,” said Chamber President and CEO Richard Perez. “Given the complexity of the issues on the ballot and the impact they could have on San Antonio’s vibrant economy, it is essential that all San Antonians who are eligible to vote educate themselves on the candidates and the issues and make their voices heard by hitting the polls this November.”
The website will be updated frequently with questionnaires completed by candidates, additional resources, videos, and other important information voters need to know in preparation for the November 6 election.
Businesses and community organizations are encouraged to partner with the Chamber for the 2018 Voter Engagement Initiative, which will make it easier for employees, family members, friends, and colleagues to participate in the political process. Education and access are key components of the program.
In addition, members of the Chamber team have been deputized to register all eligible voters between now and October 9, 2018. Anyone interested in getting registered to vote in Bexar County can stop by the Chamber’s downtown office at 602 East Commerce Monday – Friday between 8:30am-5:00pm.
