Throughout this past week, several local organizations came together to represent San Antonio at the 2018 Alamo ACE Conference at La Cantera Resort. The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, CyberSecurity San Antonio, along with many other local organizations had the opportunity to share information about the growing cyber ecosystem and why businesses should consider San Antonio.
The event began on Monday with a golf tournament benefiting Wounded Warriors and military families. On Tuesday, attendees had the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers Brigadier General Laura Lenderman from Joint Base San Antonio, Congressman Will Hurd (via video), and Acting Principal Deputy CIO of the DoD Essye Miller. Later that afternoon, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for McAfee, Steve Grobman, as well as Major General Robert Skinner, Commander of the 24th Air Force, addressed the crowd.
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg welcomed everyone back to the conference on Wednesday, followed by Colonel Gregory J. Gagnon, Commander of NSA in Texas. Brigadier General Neil S. Hersey, Commandant of the U.S. Army Cyber School; William Leigher, Director of the DoD Cyber Warfare Programs; and Brigadier General George M. “Moose” Reynolds, Vice Commander of the 25th Air Force, rounded out the afternoon keynote speaker sessions.
As one of the largest events hosted by a San Antonio-area organization, the Alamo ACE conference is a unique opportunity for local cybersecurity and IT companies to meet clients and colleagues from across the country. Working closely together, and pooling resources, the Team San Antonio group represented Cyber City USA well. CyberSecurity San Antonio looks forward to convening with the group again and continuing to strategize how to brand the City beyond its borders.
