Wednesday evening, under beautiful blue skies, Baptist Medical Center hosted their official dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the newly renovated and expanded Emergency Room, and Chamber President and CEO Richard Perez, along with Texas State Senator José Menéndez,  helped with the ribbon-cutting. Baptist Medical Center is a Community Built on Care that has been serving the people of San Antonio since 1903 – one hundred and 16 years. It is the longest continually operating acute care hospital in San Antonio. The new ER is the first-phase of renovation and expansion of their physical surroundings, changes that allow them to adapt to demand for emergency care in a changing downtown environment that is growing with new spaces to live and new places to work. The new Emergency Room represents an $8.5 million-dollar investment that adds 18,000 square feet of space dedicated to emergency care for our neighbors and surrounding community.
