Did you know that October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month? You don’t need to be a cybersecurity expert to understand the risks of sharing information online. But, if you are a business owner, you should absolutely increase your knowledge of cybersecurity, cyber hygiene, and what you can do to protect your business, your data, and your employees.
This year’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) theme is “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.” Launched by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance, this is the 16th year of NCSAM. Simple actions like updating your privacy settings, using strong and unique passphrases, adding multi-factor authentication to your login process, and updating your software can go a long way.
