Do you have a cyber or IT department? We need your help! More than 500 high school students have expressed interest in learning about cyber and IT careers in the San Antonio area. Sign up to host 15-40 students for the 2019 IT & Cybersecurity Job Shadow Day on Thursday, November 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Coordinated through SAWorks, a program within the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF), the citywide job shadow day is the perfect opportunity for you to meet local high school students, showcase your organization, and demonstrate why students should stick with STEAM via cyber and IT career pathways.
As of October 23, the following organizations are hosting at least 20 students: Accenture Federal, Bexar County IT, Cisco, Digital Defense, IPSecure, SAWS, and Webhead. However, that only covers about 140 students, and we want to provide opportunities for all 500 students.
Ready to welcome students into your workplace? Contact Saani Fong via email at ssfong@sanantonioedf.com for more information. The future workforce of our community depends upon your generosity – thank you for your commitment to strengthening the talent pipeline within our cyber and IT industries.
Recently recognized as a global cyber hub by CPO Magazine, San Antonio continues to create and attract top-notch cybersecurity talent, employers, and events. To get involved, visit www.sachamber.org/cyber.
