The San Antonio business community received some good news Wednesday. The 4th Court of Appeals decided it will not weigh in on the paid sick leave ordinance until the Texas Supreme Court takes up a similar ordinance in Austin. Business Groups had urged the appeals court to wait. The ordinance was set to go into effect December 1, 2019. Business groups filed for a temporary injunction and was granted by State District Judge Peter Sakai on November 22, 2019. The temporary injunction prevented the ordinance from going into effect December 1, 2019. The City of San Antonio filed an appeal to reverse the court’s decision.
