With the country battling the COVID 19 pandemic, the private sector has stepped up to help. Numerous businesses across Texas have already started manufacturing supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) and personal hygiene products like hand sanitizer.
Maverick Whiskey located here in San Antonio began making hand sanitizer two weeks ago. They have donated it to the city and others in the community. Tito’s Vodka, a Texas based company, just announced that it will soon begin production on 24 tons of hand sanitizer that complies with industry and government guidelines. Once produced, the company will give it away for free to the community and those most in need. Yesterday, Tito’s also announced that hospitals, first responders, and managed care facilities can now submit request for hand sanitizer.
Two other Distillery’s based right here in San Antonio announced shifts in production. Rebecca Creek Distillery, just north of San Antonio, announced Tuesday that it will shift production of whiskey to hand sanitizer. This production shift was in response to the growing needs of first responders and the medical community. Ranger Creek Brewing & Distillery also announced it will shift production to help with locals out of hand sanitizer. Once produced, Ranger Creek will be giving it away to anyone who needs it for free.
