On Saturday, May 2, three San Antonio high school teams, two Army JROTC teams from Roosevelt High School and one Air Force JROTC team from Brandeis High School, competed in the first-ever virtual version of the national CyberPatriot competition.
Out of 6,760 total teams, including 1,885 all-service division teams, these San Antonio teams comprised only three of five high school teams from Texas who competed at this year’s first-ever virtual competition. The two other Texas teams hailed from Harlingen’s Marine Military Academy (MCJROTC Team: Devil Dogs) and Cypress’s Cy Fair High School (AFJROTC Team: Azure).
On behalf of Military City USA, we congratulate Roosevelt High School Team TXPatriot for placing first in the All-Service Division and Roosevelt High School’s Team 2 for earning third within the All-Service Division. Roosevelt’s Team TXPatriot placed first in the Cisco NetAcad Challenge within the All-Service Division. Well done, students! Congratulations!
During this pandemic, these students are a testament to the strength of our young cyber leaders, and Military City USA could not be prouder of them. Thank you to the students for their perseverance and thank you to their families for supporting their journey. We salute Josh Beck (Roosevelt High School) and Jim Mangiafico (Brandeis High School), as well as all of the CyberPatriot technical mentors, volunteers, district leadership, school administration, sponsors, donors, CyberSecurity San Antonio, and the CyberTexas Foundation for their support of these and all CyberPatriot students.
