The Center of Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has recently released a Spanish language version of their popular collectible card game Cyber Threat Defender (CTD) that teaches cybersecurity to students in grades 6-12. With more than 50,000 decks distributed in over 13 countries, CTD is helping teachers to introduce cybersecurity and what it means to be a good cyber citizen to students in this age of technology. Designed as a fun and engaging game first, CTD aims to bring cybersecurity to an age group that can begin thinking about educational paths and career choices without the burden of expensive technology in the classroom. The CIAS K-12 cybersecurity program, of which CTD is a key element, is totally supported through individual and organizational sponsors. With these gifts, the CIAS can supply a free classroom set of CTD to requesting schools and teachers. Donations can be made and individual decks can be purchased at www.ciasmarketplace.com.
