During the 86th Legislative session, your San Antonio Chamber of Commerce was honored to provide support for Senate Bill 1557, which established the Purple Star Campus program. The legislation passed, and the path was paved to help schools highlight the programs they provide for military-connected students and enable communities to recognize campuses that develop practices and programs that cater to this unique student group. We are excited to announce that the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Purple Star Campus Designation webpage has launched this week - TEA’s Purple Star Campus Designation. For the first time ever, the TEA will award the Purple Star Campus Designation for campuses that apply and meet the established criteria.  Applications for the 2020-2021 school year will be accepted June 10, 2020-August 28, 2020. Designations will be announced October 2020.  Campuses who apply and earn the designation will also have their designation featured on the www.txschools.gov.
