We are thrilled that the launch of the #WeHeartSAHeroes campaign was a smashing success, thanks in no small part to our countless members and community partners. Seeing individuals and organizations from across our city band together to show support for San Antonio's essential workers is a sight to behold. We want everyone to know that San Antonio is a city that protects, celebrates, and recognizes our essential workforce.
Even after a great launch, the work is not done. Because of the spike in COVID-19 cases in San Antonio, our essential workers are working harder than ever. So, to give them the thanks and recognition they deserve, the #WeHeartSAHeroes campaign will continue for the duration of July, so you can take part in #weheartSAheroes anytime until Friday July 31.
To participate, be creative and show your thanks for essential workers. A show of thanks can be as simple as making heart hands, decorating your car, or recording a short video. Then, snap a picture and share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or all three, tagging weheartSAheroes and using #weheartSAheroes.
In addition, this month, the San Antonio Express News is going to print a poster to insert in a Sunday newspaper, which will feature the logos of all of the companies/organizations that are participating or have participated in this community-wide tribute. If your organization has participated or plans to, please send your logo to our VP of Image and Communications Julie Ring at jring@sachamber.org.
If you haven't yet, check out our toolkit for graphics, content, social media ideas, and more.
We also ask you to share photos of yourself wearing your mask and use the hashtag #SAheroeswearmasks. We need to continue to set an example that wearing a mask is the right thing to do.
