Founded 12 years ago, Restore Ed’s individualized student-focused model has yielded exceptional results, such as having the highest GED graduation rate in county for six consecutive years and 80% of students who go through the workforce training programs obtain relevant employment within a year. The new location is the sixth move the organization has made since 1997 to accommodate a staggering 400% student growth. Incoming San Antonio Chamber chair, Hope Andrade, delivered a keynote address at the event. “This organization will be at the forefront of helping the thousands of people that have been displaced from their jobs prepare for new careers,” Andrade said. “Restore Ed is doing its part to ensure that every member of our community has an equitable shot at economic and social mobility,” she continued. The Chamber’s President and CEO, Richard Perez, addressed the crowd and commented on the importance of Restore Education’s outreach and success, “Ensuring every person in our community has access to educational, training, and workforce development opportunities is fundamental to our city’s recovery and more importantly to our future resilience.” Restore Education is a part of the City of San Antonio’s Train for Jobs SA program.
