During our One City Celebration in December, the Chamber’s 2021 Chair of the board Hope Andrade laid out the vision for the organization’s One City priority, with a goal of spearheading the recovery and reinvestment in our great city. To that end, Hope has tapped two San Antonio community leaders, Laura Vaccaro, VP of Community Investment and Engagement for Valero, and Robert Thrailkill, VP of Operations at Zachry Hospitality, to lead an initiative charged with organizing and connecting individuals within the Hospital Industry and associated agencies to identify priorities and actions that will prepare San Antonio to usher in much-needed economic recovery. Laura and Robert have organized a Hospitality Forum to foster necessary candid and robust discussion to begin this important task, and the Chamber is ready to assist this effort by facilitating and coordinating this important discussion. We will help collect and organize critical feedback regarding the needs of the San Antonio business community, so that we can successfully identify and make steps toward the economic recovery of our city. Joe Kampa, the Chamber’s VP of Membership, is assisting this effort and has created a survey to identify a few key, shared priorities within the Hospitality Industry and design a meaningful agenda to serve as a foundation for action of the Hospitality Forum. The survey will be shared on Monday, January 18. To achieve the recovery of our city and to make the One City vision a reality, San Antonians must commit to working together. By uniting around the One City goal, we can boost San Antonio’s recovery and create confidence that will allow visitors to return to the Alamo City in a safe and productive way.
