As the 45th Class of Leadership San Antonio (LSA) continues its extended year with the theme of “legacy, service, and action,” Chamber leaders are already beginning to seek out LSA alumni and future business and community leaders to participate in next year’s cohort – LSA 46, which will kick off its season with a Welcome Reception in December of this year.
LSA was created in 1975 by The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce to help identify and develop community leaders and is now considered the premier program for existing and emerging leaders in the Bexar County and surrounding areas. The program, one of the first of its kind in Texas, has graduated more than 1,900 participants and focuses on delivering these leaders an opportunity to develop an understanding of the promise and challenges of our community. The program goes beyond personal and professional development and, as its goal, educates and informs these leaders in the vital areas affecting San Antonio, as well as encouraging Chamber Business involvement and Community advocacy. In 1992, The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber joined to be a co-host to the program, enhancing the involvement and diversity of future classes.
The first step is to identify interested and engaged LSA alumni, currently active and in-good-standing with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, with a keen understanding of the value of LSA in developing future business leaders who will dive deep into the inner workings of San Antonio and the impact business has on our citizens and community.
The next step will be to recruit a wide variety of future business leaders, proven in their industries and careers and eager to learn more about initiatives and ideas outside of their normal daily career life. LSA class participants are selected from all segments of the region and a wide variety of industries. Participants are diverse in gender, industry, organizational mission, title, background, and ethnicity, to name a few. LSA Class members demonstrate leadership qualities, show a sincere interest in improving our community, and have a history of holding positions of increasing responsibility within their chosen professions. LSA seeks people dedicated to service and to invest their time and talent in improving and strengthening San Antonio.

The application will be up on the website by end of summer, so stay tuned! However, it’s not too early to begin to secure your letters of recommendation – two are required, but three can be submitted. They will need to be attached to the application, which will be all digital.
