Last week, your Chamber returned to in-person networking—the way it was meant to be. Hosted by Magnolia Pancake Haus on Huebner, more than 60 members returned to a time-honored tradition of business professionals: Coming together to visit, catch up, and do business with one another. The breakfast, as usual, was fresh and filling, served on the veranda in near-perfect weather.
The group was briefed by Suzie Otis, Director of Marketing and Sponsorship at the Fiesta San Antonio Commission. Her briefing was timely, in that Fiesta was just days away at the time and quite a number of changes had been implemented due to the previous restrictions put in place for COVID-19. Suzi’s remarks included the revised schedule of events and an update on the events that were not occurring this year. She went on to inform the attendees of the exciting additions, such as the Army’s Precision Jump Team the Golden Knights, jumping into the Hemisphere Park the evening of Fiesta® Fiesta, the traditional kick-off on Thursday, June 17. She was also instrumental in educating those not familiar with the 11-day celebration by providing a brief history of the more than 130-year-old tradition.
The gathering wrapped with an update of upcoming Chamber special events and receptions by our very own President & CEO, Richard Perez.
The next networking event will be hosted by Chicken N Pickle, the pickleball sports complex at 5215 UTSA Boulevard on July 13, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The event will feature an presentation from San Antonio Sports Senior Vice President and COO Jenny Carnes.
