On Thursday, July 7, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Aerospace Industry Team hosted five interns from the Dee Howard Foundation to discuss the aviation and private sector space industry in our region. Dee Howard executive Director Christina Martinez took the initiative this summer to lead an internship experience for five SA Works interns all interested in aerospace. Instead of working at one aerospace company, the Dee Howard interns are able to see several aerospace businesses and community stakeholders.
During the visit on the 7th, the interns learned about the Chamber; its mission, history, and role in our community. The five Chamber interns joined the Dee Howard group for a lively discussion of the future of the aerospace industry in San Antonio and how the Chamber’s Aerospace Committee is helping to make it a reality. Finally, all of the interns discussed best practices on social media and how to best continue to promote the Alamo City’s aerospace sector through meaningful storytelling and an impactful social media campaign.
