The Greater San Antonio Chamber’s November Cybersecurity Council Meeting featured CEO of CyberFortress Bret Piatt to discuss the company’s merger and re-brand, their expected growth, and the current landscape of cybersecurity product companies in the Alamo region. The event was held on November 1 at the Geekdom Event Centre.

After a brief introduction from Council Chair Larry Hurtado, Managing Director of QNext Corp USA, Bret provided an overview of CyberFortress and the niche role it serves in the market. CyberFortress operates 10+ data centers around the globe and offers backup and recovery solutions including endpoint backup, server backup & disaster recovery, and SaaS & application backup. Bret shared CyberFortress is the largest privately owned cybersecurity product company in the San Antonio region, something he hopes may change as the region comes together to identify ways to attract and support other product companies that stimulate the industry.

Following Bret’s overview, Council members shared relative updates with the group. Rogelio Garcia with community partner Greater:SATX shared information about the Export Leaders Program and encouraged interested parties to reach out for more information.

Chamber VP of Cybersecurity and Economic Development, Jeff Fair, reminded council members about the Chamber’s annual SA to DC trip, slated for February 26-29, 2024, and the last Council meeting of the year on December 6th.
