The Greater San Antonio Chamber’s November Aerospace Committee Meeting, hosted by Tri-Starr Talent Agency, featured a presentation on Tri-Starr’s capabilities in filling workforce vacancies and a robust conversation on San Antonio’s current manufacturing proficiencies.
After a brief welcome by the Greater Chamber’s Nathan Ramon, Tri-Starr Vice President of Revenue, Chris Harl, shared different ways the agency explains the cost of empty chairs in an organization and the ripple effects they can have on productivity and moral. The agency works diligently with employers to find qualified candidates who fit the company culture and are looking to be a contributing member of a team. Chris also shed light on San Antonio Manufacturing Solutions, a branch of Tri-Starr that specializes in recruiting and placing candidates in industries like manufacturing, automotive production, and assembly services. The Tri-Starr leadership team made it very clear to committee members that getting to know their clients and approaching a job as a continued partnership between multiple parties has been key to success, and something they prioritize when discussing future opportunities.
Following Chris' presentation, Dan Yoxall with SAMA briefed committee members on SAMA's 2024 priorities, including growing the Annual “Come and Make It In Texas” Trade Show and Conference. Dan then led a conversation about San Antonio's manufacturing capabilities and pain points the committee can work together to address. Committee members acknowledged San Antonio is historically reserved when highlighting the array of specialties and quality products it offers. In order to truly gain the recognition, it deserves, San Antonio must present a unified message about the potential that comes with choosing a career in Aerospace, Aviation, and Manufacturing in order to recruit workforce candidates.
