The Northeast ISD trustee races involved an unusually high amount of fundraising and partisan campaigning, but the more moderate candidates were victorious.

  • Place 1, Lisa Thompson won with 70% of the vote
  • Place 2, Tracie Shelton won with 57% of the vote
  • Place 4, David Beyer won with 70% of the vote

One new element in Saturday's municipal election was the first time Texas residents could elect three new positions to oversee property tax appraisals. The opportunity was the result of Senate Bill 2, the sweeping property tax relief legislation passed this summer. When Texas voters approved constitutional amendments to lower property taxes this year they also approved the new political positions within their appraisal districts.

  • For Bexar Appraisal District Place 1, Naomi Miller won outright with 53% of the vote, but the other two slots will go into a runoff.
  • Place 2 between Erika Hizel and Stephen Spears and for Place 3 between Robert Bruce and Larry Lamborn

Alamo Colleges District trustee Gene Sprague won reelection with 54% of the vote. This was the only ACD trustee race on the ballot because the other candidates were unopposed.
