Angela McClendon Johnson Joins the Greater San Antonio Chamber as Vice President of Education, Workforce & Leadership


San Antonio, TX [August 28, 2024]— The Greater San Antonio Chamber welcomes Angela McClendon Johnson as Vice President of Education, Workforce & Leadership. With a distinguished career in project management, workforce development, and community leadership, Johnson is uniquely equipped to lead and expand the Greater San Antonio Chamber’s educational and leadership initiatives.
Johnson’s extensive involvement with Leadership San Antonio (LSA), considered the premier program for existing and emerging regional leaders, includes serving as a Co-Chair, Steering Committee member, and participant. Her firsthand experience with LSA will be instrumental in improving and growing the Greater Chamber’s leadership programs and ensuring they continue to develop and inspire the next generation of San Antonio’s business and community leaders.

In addition to her work with LSA, Johnson brings a wealth of experience from her tenure at the San Antonio Housing Authority, now known as Opportunity Home San Antonio. There, she helped lead a workforce development program providing critical resources and support to the community, further showcasing her ability to spearhead impactful workforce initiatives in her new role with the Chamber.
Johnson’s professional background also includes significant achievements in managing projects, budgets, and marketing initiatives, both as a small business owner and as a member of the USAA team. She served as a Senior Marketing Manager for USAA, where she managed six Bank marketing teams and oversaw the planning and execution of complex marketing campaigns. Because of her performance in that role, Johnson was selected for the prestigious USAA Manager Candidate School. 

Webster also said Johnson’s entrepreneurial spirit and strategic insight will be invaluable as the Greater Chamber continues to support and empower the San Antonio business community.
