Greater San Antonio Chamber officials recently participated in the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Quarterly Community Partnership Meeting to discuss opportunities to support the local military community.

This program brings together leaders from the military, state and local government, community organizations, and business partners to focus on sustaining and increasing the military value of JBSA, while strengthening economic vitality and quality of life across the region. JBSA partners with community groups to provide, receive or share support services that create efficiencies, multiply effectiveness, connect communities, conserve resources, and serve military members, veterans and their families.

“JBSA’s vision—“#1 Place to Work, Train, & Live”—isn’t achieved in isolation,” said Dr. Chaunté Hall, Chief of Community Engagement with Port San Antonio and Chair of the Greater Chamber’s Military Affairs Council.  “It happens when a community chooses to show up, coordinate, and move together.

“Our military community isn’t just part of our story; it’s a cornerstone of our region’s national security relevance, workforce strength, and future competitiveness. Because in Military City USA, we don’t just celebrate the mission—we help sustain it,” said Hall.
