The Chamber once again hosted our annual Command Reception at the Depot at Sunset Station on Tuesday, October 18. For several years, this event has served as a chance to reconnect with local military leaders and as a welcome to new Commanders and Senior Enlisted Leaders. This year, we were honored to have Lt. Gen. Darryl Roberson, US Air Force, Commander Air Education and Training Command and Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, US Army, Commander 5th Army and US Army North speak to the audience.
This unique event gave Chamber members and San Antonio's civic and business leaders the opportunity to meet and converse with military command teams from Joint Base San Antonio. The goal of our yearly Command Reception has always been to connect the civilian community with the military community in a relaxing setting, so attendees can socialize and interact. Chamber Chairman Renee Flores reminded the audience that this event is symbolic of the commitment of our business community to foster San Antonio’s reputation as “Military City U.S.A.” She also reminded the audience that this reception leads us to our 2016 Celebrate America’s Military (CAM) events which begin November 1.
