The Chamber has partnered with the City of San Antonio and SA 2020 to implement the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive plan. Chamber staff joined various other entities throughout Bexar County at a planning session last week to discuss effective ways to track indicators and share data. Other partners include Real Estate Council, TxDOT, Habitat for Humanity, Alamo Area Council of Governments and Joint Base San Antonio, just to name a few. The partnership is a great opportunity to implement some of the Good to Great to Global (G3) recommendations developed by the G3 Taskforce. The three industry sectors identified in the G3 initiative: Biomedical and Healthcare, Cultural Preservation and Celebration, and Cybersecurity all align with the city’s comprehensive plan as well as their Sustainability and Multimodal Transportation plans. Rather than duplicate efforts, the Chamber will collaborate with all partners to ensure that these plans are set in motion. The SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan was adopted in August of this year and will serve as a blueprint for San Antonio’s growth in the next 25 years. The G3 initiative will enhance those efforts by incorporating strategies to make San Antonio more globally competitive. The purpose of the meeting was to identify how each partner could assist in moving forward with implementation and policymaking that aligns with the Comprehensive, Sustainability and Multimodal Transportation plans. The Task Force is putting the final touches on the G3 report and will present to the Chamber Board on November 10. Once approved, the Chamber will develop both communication and implementation plans to promote the initiative and report progress.
