Texan by Nature (TxN), a nonprofit founded by former First Lady Laura Bush to activate and amplify Texan-led conservation, has opened the TxN Certification program to receive applications. This certification provides an objective measurement and recognition of innovative, transformative conservation projects from Texas businesses, organizations and individuals. By highlighting initiatives benefiting the state’s people, prosperity and natural resources, TxN aims to expand their positive impact across Texas. To be eligible for certification, conservation projects must be Texan-led and financed, involve natural resource conservation, and encourage community participation where applicable. They must also be measurable (in funding, volunteer time, or donations raised). Those whose projects are certified will receive a TxN Certification and use of the logo, a listing on the TxN website, social media amplification, and ticket access for the TxN gala and other events. TxN in turn asks certified organizations and individuals to share the results of their initiatives and pledge to continue caring for Texas’ people, prosperity, and natural resources.
