Presented by Bank of America in collaboration with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, CyberSecurity San Antonio, and Port San Antonio, the second annual Executive Summit on Cybersecurity returned to downtown San Antonio last week. With nearly 140 people in attendance, this year’s summit was twice as large as the inaugural 2018 gathering. The Summit included leading experts in technology, risk and vendor management, and cybersecurity from Bank of America, including:
  • Roland Chan, Client Cyber Engagement Executive;
  • Khalil Jackson, Business Information Security Officer;
  • Christine Frye, Chief Privacy Officer;
  • Siobhan MacDermott, Vice Chairman, Global Investment Banking and former global cyber public policy executive; and
  • Katherine McDonald, Third Party Information Security Executive.
New to the Summit this year was the first-ever San Antonio Cyber Pitch! Following an open application process limited to San Antonio-based startups and small businesses, three local companies were selected to pitch to the audience.  A special thank you to the selection committee for volunteering to review San Antonio Cyber Pitch applications:
  • Jarrett Cravey, Accenture
  • Joyce Deuley, Geekdom
  • Hector Ramirez, UTSA Small Business Development Center
CyberFortress, Cyber Warrior Network, and Rectify rocked the stage, and showcased their innovative solutions in cyber insurance, cyber talent identification and verification of technical skills through gaming, and secure redaction of personally identifiable information in documents, respectively. Moderated by Amanda Keammerer, Vice President of Cybersecurity and Director of CyberSecurity San Antonio at the Chamber of Commerce, the local companies received on-stage feedback from a stellar panel of mentors, including:
  • Cat Dizon, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Active Capital
  • Ben Koch, Senior Investment Banker, Bank of America
  • Ian Schneller, Information Security Officer, Bank of America
  • Guy Walsh, Founding Executive Director, National Security Collaboration Center, UTSA
