The  Texas primary election is scheduled for March 1, 2022, and Monday January 31, 2022, is the last day to register to vote or change your address for this election. To check your voter registration status, click here.  Early voting begins Monday, February 14, 2022, and ends Friday, February 25, 2022. There will be no early voting on Monday February 21, 2022, Presidents’ Day, as it is a federal holiday. For Early Vote Information, click here.  If you miss early voting, Primary Election Day is Tuesday, March 1, 2022, and polls are open from 7 am – 7 pm.

For this primary election, voters will see races at the county, state and federal level on the ballot.

The Democratic and Republican parties will select candidates for seven statewide seats: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Land Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, Comptroller, and 1 of the 3 Railroad Commission Seats. Both parties will also select Congressional and state legislative office candidates who will advance to the November 2022 election.
