SAN ANTONIO, TX., (February 23, 2022) – Aquatica, Texas’ best waterpark, will open its newest thrilling water ride, Riptide Race on Saturday, March 5, 2022, just in time for Spring Break. This ALL-NEW pipeline ride, the first of its kind in San Antonio, combines everything guests love about Aquatica’s existing rides with a new layer of fun - good-natured competition by featuring dueling side-by-side flumes and low walls to give racers full view of the competition. Set atop of 51-foot tower, guests will board a two-person raft and race through 565 feet of slides. Guests can challenge each other and vie for victory while speeding through each turn, spin, and loop to see which team feels the rush of victory as they blast down into a splashdown.

Aquatica continues its ride innovation with Riptide Race as the third new high-speed water ride in as many years. The high-speed adventure is sure to exceed park-goers wildest water ride dreams. With a height requirement of 42 inches, this fast-paced, high-speed adventure will be the perfect ride for families.
In addition to the all-new Riptide Race, Aquatica will premiere a new bar, Turi’s Beach Bar, adjacent to Big Surf Shores wave pool. This full-service bar will feature a variety of beers, mixed drinks, cocktails, and frozen drinks for beachgoers to enjoy at the bar, poolside or in one of the many private cabanas available to rent.
Aquatica San Antonio opens for the 2022 season on March 5 and will be open daily until March 20 for Spring Break. After Spring Break, Aquatica will be open Fridays through Sundays until summer when daily operation resumes. Aquatica Pass Members will also have opportunity throughout the summer to enjoy exclusive ride time on Riptide Race, ensuring short lines and wait times to experience this fast-paced, exhilarating adventure.
