As the city emerges from the pandemic and dusts off their boots and hats for bucking broncos and all things Texana, the Leadership San Antonio Alumni Association kicked-off their quarterly event schedule with a Rodeo Roundup, sponsored by Leadership San Antonio (LSA) Class 45. The event was a wonderful chance to reconnect with old classmates and meet other program alumni to build relationships and expand networks. Just like the Rodeo, there was live music from Allan Hendrickson, barbeque from Auggie’s Barbed Wire Smokehouse, a wine tasting from Nobleman Wines, and Sierra Vieja Tequila was served out of Airstream bar provided by La Antigua Rolling Bar.
Hosted at the home of Bernice Kearney Bonner (LSA 42) and Paul Bonner, the planning committee of LSA 45 included: Ingrid Etienne, Nikiza Goga, Amy Lane, Laural Logan-Fain, Miranda Puente, Bill Rieck, Allison Reyes, Felisha Sanchez, Thea Setterbo, Justin Simone, Jonathan Tijerina, and Jeff Wurzburg. Leadership San Antonio Alumni Association Executive Committee members included: Lauralynn Arellano (LSA 41), Bernice Kearney Bonner, Michele Autenrieth Brown (LSA 32), Juan Cano (LSA 43), Ashley Harris-Dumalong (SA 39), and Grant Herbon (LSA 44).
The Leadership San Antonio Alumni Association is open to anyone who has graduated from the Leadership San Antonio program. Currently in its 46th year, LSA provides a year-long, behind-the-scenes look at the city and county with the goal of engagement. It is a joint program hosted by the San Antonio Chamber and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The Alumni Association provides connection to other program alumni and the ability to mobilize to move the city and county forward. For example, a food drive last December raised $43,177.80 and more than 600 pounds of food for the San Antonio Food Bank. That effort led to food for more than 302,239 families in need.
