Your Chamber’s Cybersecurity Council and Cybersecurity San Antonio will host Congressman Tony Gonzales at the council’s next meeting on April 6 at 3:00 p.m. During the meeting, which is sponsored by Black Cloak concierge cybersecurity solutions, Council Chair Larry Hurtado, President and CEO of Evanesco, will welcome the Congressman from the 23rd District of Texas to discuss his role in cybersecurity legislation and funding.

Expect Congressman Gonzales to talk about his initiative, the National Digital Reserve Corps, which is legislation to form a group of civilian individuals with relevant skills and credentials to address digital and cyber needs across the federal government.  Of note, the Cybersecurity Issue Team led by Bret Piatt, CEO of Jungle Disk, will be meeting with lawmakers during the Chamber’s SAtoDC trip next week.

During the visit from Congressman Gonzales, the Cybersecurity Council will also present the Cybersecurity San Antonio public-private partnership as a local model to advance cybersecurity interests.  Larry Hurtado will also introduce Cindy McClister, the Council’s Advocacy Focus Team Chair, as she briefs Congressman Gonzales on the Council’s initiative to educate elected leaders and their staff on cybersecurity considerations and how San Antonio is a leader in the area.

This is going to be a great meeting, and we look forward to you joining us in-person at the Chamber’s Northside Business Center at 1100 NW Loop 410, Suite 109. For more information, please contact Jeff Fair, the Chamber’s Vice President of Cybersecurity and Economic Development.
