For 43 years, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce has led local leaders to Washington, DC to advocate on federal issues that are pertinent to our community. From March 27 - 30, nearly 150 key business and community leaders including the Mayor, City Councilmembers, and County Commissioners joined the Chamber and our partner organizations - the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the South Texas Business Partnership, and the San Antonio Mobility Coalition - for the 43rd annual SA to DC. The 2022 delegation was led by Jonathan Gurwitz, Partner with KGB Texas Communications.
The SA to DC trip program included discussions on transportation and infrastructure as well as other priorities for our region, including broadband expansion and digital access, and workforce development. In total, 12 issue teams had more than 100 meetings scheduled with U.S. Representatives, Senators, agency leaders, and key staff where they advocated for important needs including local infrastructure, education funding, affordable housing, military missions, and many more.
Special thanks to this year’s sponsors – Frost, Port San Antonio, Boeing, CPS Energy, and Vulcan Materials Company – for their efforts, time, and support. We also want to acknowledge our partners at the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the South Texas Business Partnership, and the San Antonio Mobility Coalition for their partnership and assistance on the trip.
The Chamber thanks all of our SA to DC 2022 participants for their collaboration, service, grace, and dedication to bettering our community.
