On Tuesday April 26, The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber, the Alamo Asian American Chamber, and San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE) presented the annual United State of the City, featuring Mayor Ron Nirenberg.
More than 625 business and community leaders gathered for this sold-out event, which was the first event hosted at the Tech Port Center + Arena. Located in the heart of Port San Antonio’s vast technology campus, the venue is America’s newest innovation destination.
Mayor Nirenberg announced that unemployment is down, and property tax relief is coming for San Antonio residents. He also stated that the last two years have been challenged by COVID-19 and highlighted the City’s road to recovery. The Mayor cited historic investments in workforce development, infrastructure, affordable housing and continued economic prosperity.
Also included in the Mayor’s address to the business community was the historic $1.2 billion municipal bond pack that will go before voters on May 7, 2022. The San Antonio Chamber has endorsed the 2022 Municipal Bond, which represents a huge opportunity to boost our infrastructure and advance commerce throughout our city.
