
The Primary Runoff Election Results for the San Antonio are in. There were many local, state, and national races on the ballot. One of the most closely watched races was the seat for Bexar County Judge, and former Children’s Court Judge Peter Sakai secured 58.03% of the vote to beat former State Representative Ina Minjarez in the Democratic Primary Runoff for Bexar County Judge. Sakai will face Republican candidate and former Bexar County Precinct 3 Commissioner Trish DeBerry in November for the seat of Bexar County Judge.
A second closely watched race was the Democratic Primary Runoff for Congressional District 28. The race is currently too close to call and votes may not be final until later Wednesday, May 25. Currently, with 99% of the votes counted Incumbent Cuellar holds the lead with 177 more votes than Cisneros. Either Incumbent Cuellar or Democratic candidate Cisneros will face Republican Candidate Cassy Garcia in November for the race for Congressional District 28.
