The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce volunteers that serve as chairs for the Chamber’s program councils and committees met last week to discuss progress toward achieving goals and objectives for the year. Participating in the meeting were the Chair of the Infrastructure Committee Brian Mast, Government Affairs Manager with San Antonio River Authority; Chair of the Senior Enlisted Advisory Committee Grant Hegner, Lead Associate with Booz|Allen|Hamilton; Chair of the Military Affairs Council Rick Crider, Executive Vice President, Airport/Railport & Military Relations, Port San Antonio; Chair of the Public Policy Council Taylor Dawson, Senior Vice President, Pape-Dawson Engineers; Chair of the Economic Development Council Charlie Weil, Vice President, Transwestern; and Chair of the Cybersecurity Council Larry Hurtado, Founder Evanesco. The mid-year meeting was a great way for all to look for ways to be mutually supportive in efforts to achieve the best results for Chamber members this year.
The Chairs shared what their council or committee has been working on so far this year and the types of meetings and guests they’ve hosted. All then shared what they planned for the remainder of the year, with many focusing on preparations for the 88th Texas State Legislative Session and beginning to build a detailed federal legislative agenda. The discussion was wide-ranging and identified several areas for councils and committees to work together as the year closes.
