For 52 years, your Chamber has been proud to connect our nation’s military service members and families with our robust business community to celebrate and honor the military’s selfless service, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms across the globe. What began as a way to thank our Vietnam Veterans returning from war, Celebrate America’s Military “CAM” has turned out to be the country’s longest and most widely held series of events to uplift the value of our men and women in uniform, who are actively serving throughout Joint Base San Antonio.
San Antonio has been home to a consistent military presence for nearly 300 years. It is why we’re called "Military City USA". Today, the city has one of the nation's largest active and retired Military populations. Joint Base San Antonio educates more Department of Defense (DoD) students than any other installation, hosts the largest concentration of Cyber and Intelligence communities second only to the National Capital Region in DC, oversees more active runways than any other installation, houses the DoD's largest hospital and only level one trauma center, and supports over 565,000 personnel who live and work in four counties and four Congressional districts.
This year, we also are honored to go back to our roots, celebrating our veterans and recognizing their sacrifices to our great Nation as well as helping our community celebrate the U.S. Air Force's 75th Anniversary!
Events will run from October 31, 2022, through November 17, 2022, and are free to attend for our Active, Guard, and Reserve Service members. Many unique events will be hosted by community partners, from an Opening Ceremony at the Alamo to our highlight event, the Spirit of America Dinner at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. As events are planned, details will be posted at www.celebrateamericasmilitary.com. Visit the site to find out more about other events like the Vietnam Veterans Wall that Heals Memorial, the Marine Corps Birthday Ball, the Alamo’s Military Appreciation Day, and SA Veteran’s Day at Hemisfair, presented by Endeavors.
If you are interested in hosting an event to add to the CAM calendar, please email Lori Stinson, Vice President of Military Affairs and Leadership Development.
Sponsorship of these events is a great way to message your support of our JBSA soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and guardians. For sponsorship information, visit www.celebrateamericasmilitary.com and select “opportunities”.
We look forward to seeing you all in November to Celebrate America’s Military!
