Last Thursday, the Chamber and members of our business community gathered for the 2023 Legislative Reception to celebrate and show appreciation for the challenging work of our state leaders during the 88th legislative session and special sessions.
The members of our Bexar County delegation were tremendous supporters of the Chamber’s State legislative priorities, and we understand the integral role our state elected leaders play in ensuring San Antonio maintains a thriving, business-friendly economy.
During the 88th legislative session, the Chamber focused on legislative priorities for Economic Development Incentives, Workforce Development, Infrastructure Investments, Military Affairs, and Property Tax Relief. We were proud to see success related to Economic Development Incentives with the passage of HB 5, dedicated support for Workforce Development with the passage of HB 8, and support and passage of expanded broadband funding and infrastructure, which will go to the voters for approval in November.
During the reception, J. D. Salinas III, Vice President of External and Legislative Affairs for AT&T, our presenting sponsor, introduced the legislators who were in attendance, including:
