Former NuStar Executive Joanna Weidman and Philanthropy Officer Jim Scheele Join the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce

San Antonio, TX, July 15, 2024 — The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the expansion of our senior leadership team with the appointments of Joanna Weidman as Senior Vice President of Administration and Operations and Jim Scheele as Vice President of Membership.

Joanna brings over 30 years of diverse corporate experience, a strong commitment to volunteer service, and a deep passion for our community. With his extensive experience managing a dynamic portfolio in the business sector, Jim will help our organization achieve new heights,” said Jeff Webster, President & CEO. “We are building a solid team at the Greater Chamber and are excited about expanded opportunities to support the San Antonio business community. We will continue supporting military missions, infrastructure improvements, business retention, workforce initiatives, and maintaining a business-friendly regulatory climate. Joanna and Jim will play key roles in achieving our vision through impactful events, seamless daily operations, and robust membership support.”

Weidman previously served as Senior Vice President of Administration for NuStar Energy, where she led internal and external communications, community and government relations, and facility services. Her previous roles include Director of Corporate Communications at Valero Energy Corporation, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care, and Account Supervisor at The Atkins Group.

“It is truly an honor to join Jeff and his team, along with the Greater Chamber’s board members, investors, and volunteers, in making San Antonio an even greater place to live, work, and play,” said Weidman.

Scheele served as a Philanthropy Officer with the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation for five years, managing an energetic portfolio of prospective donors supporting CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels. He also worked as the Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Economic Development Director at the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, Senior Facilities Manager at the Scooter Store, and Hiring Manager at the Walmart Distribution Center. Scheele, a lifelong resident of New Braunfels, is a board member of the United Way of Comal County and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Weidman and Scheele will assume their new roles on July 15.
