The Greater San Antonio Chamber hosted its annual State of the City event on April 14, 2026, bringing together business and community leaders at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in downtown San Antonio. The event, a cornerstone of The Chamber’s programming, connects the business community with civic leadership while highlighting priorities shaping the region’s future.

Held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the luncheon-style event drew a broad cross-section of San Antonio’s business, civic and nonprofit communities. Attendees gathered to hear the mayor’s perspective and network, while also reinforcing the partnerships driving regional and economic growth.

The program featured an address from Gina Ortiz Jones, who was sworn in as the city’s 69th mayor. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former intelligence officer, Jones brings a background in national security and public service to her role, emphasizing leadership grounded in service and accountability.

During her remarks, Jones outlined key priorities for the city, focusing on economic development, workforce readiness, and infrastructure investment. She highlighted efforts to attract and retain businesses, strengthen small business support, and expand job opportunities across key industries. The mayor also addressed the importance of public safety, sustainable growth and continued investment in transportation and housing to meet the needs of San Antonio’s growing population. Additionally, she emphasized collaboration between the public and private sectors as essential to maintaining the city’s economic momentum and ensuring long-term prosperity.

The State of the City reflects The Chamber’s long-standing role as a leading voice for business in the region. Founded in 1894, the organization advocates for policies and initiatives that support economic development, workforce growth and infrastructure investment across the San Antonio area.

As one of The Chamber’s signature events, the annual address underscores the importance of aligning public leadership with private-sector priorities, reinforcing collaboration as a key driver of San Antonio’s continued success.
