Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai and former San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg will square off in a high-profile public forum, The Great Debate, where each candidate will lay out a clear vision for the future of Bexar County. The event is hosted by the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the San Antonio Report, and Tech Bloc.

Two of San Antonio's most well-known civic leaders will square off in what's sure to be the most talked-about political event of 2026! County Judge Peter Sakai and former Mayor Ron Nirenberg will each make their case for why they should lead Bexar County into the future.

Mayoral Runoff Debate, Co-Hosted by the Greater San Antonio Chamber and the SA Report, Expected to Draw 600 Attendees and Set the Stage for the Final Stretch of the Campaign 

Since being elected in 2017, Mayor Ron Nirenberg has been committed to growing and diversifying San Antonio’s economy, creating more jobs, and making the city more inclusive and equitable. Mayor Nirenberg's final United State of the City, hosted by the Greater San Antonio Chamber, is the "can't miss" event of the year as he will reflect on his eight years as mayor and four years on city council as he winds down his final few weeks in office.
